In-Depth Workshop on Field Crop Diseases

An In-Depth Workshop on Field Crop Diseases will be held on August 19, 1999, at the Crops Training Center, Northern Illinois Agronomy Research Center, near Shabbona, Illinois. The workshop will focus on identification of diseases, management of field crop diseases, recent research findings, and strategies for short- and long-term management. Dr. Glen Hartman, Professor of Soybean Pathology, will discuss sudden death syndrome (SDS) and white mold; Dr. Dale Edwards, Professor of Nematology, will discuss nematodes of corn and soybeans; and Dr. Joe Toman, IPM Educator, will discuss identification of diseases and results from analyses of soybean cyst nematode (SCN) samples. Individuals attending are encouraged to bring one soil sample for SCN screening. Six IPM credits for Certified Crop Advisors have been approved for this workshop.

The program will start at 9:00 am and adjourn by 3:30 pm. The preregistration fee is $55 and is due one week before the program date. The late registration fee is $75. The fee includes course materials and lunch.
