Section 24(C) Approved for Tilt on Wheat

April 23, 1999
The special local needs section 24(C) for Tilt (propiconizole) fungicide has been approved (4/19/99) for Illinois. This allows wheat producers to use Tilt up until Feeke's growth stage 10.5 for the management of several fungal wheat diseases such as leaf blotch and rust diseases and suppression of fusarium head blight. Special local needs for Tilt have been approved in many other states, including AL, AR, DE, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, ND, OH, TN, TX, VA, and WA.

Wheat producers will now have two fungicide options for fungal disease control: Tilt from Novartis or Quadris from Zeneca.--Suzanne Bissonnette
