Insect Management and Insecticide Evaluation Report Available

April 23, 1999
Each year a comprehensive report on the efficacy of many insecticides is published jointly by the Illinois Natural History Survey and the University of Illinois. The report is compiled by John Shaw, Illinois Natural History Survey, Kevin Steffey, Rick Weinzierl, other entomologists with the Center for Economic Entomology (INHS), and myself. The 1998 publication includes information on the efficacy of registered and experimental insecticides for the management of alfalfa weevils, black cutworms, corn rootworms, and European corn borers. In addition, last year's report offers some control information for selected Bt hybrids against European corn borers. If you are interested in learning more about this publication, contact John Shaw at (217)244-5124. The price is $10 per copy, plus shipping.--Mike Gray
