Get the latest information about crop conditions and pest situations around the state by dialing into the Crops Update at the University of Illinois. The program started on Monday, April 12, and it will continue each Monday (with a couple of exceptions) through July 12. Due to holidays, the program will be held on June 1 and July 6 instead of May 31 and July 5, respectively. The program begins at 9:00 a.m. and lasts approximately one hour.
At least one campus-based specialist in each of the major areas of corn production, soybean production, weed control, insect management, soil fertility, and plant pathology will participate in the program. In addition, Crop Systems and IPM educators from throughout the state will report on their observations. Everyone is encouraged to share observations and ask questions.
To connect with the program, dial (800) 347-8268; at the tone, dial 2767. The number of phone lines for the program is limited to 40, so dial in early if you want to participate. We look forward to your interaction.--Robert Hoeft
