Register Now for the 2008 Illinois Crop Protection Technology Conference

Put the dates of the 2008 Illinois Crop Protection Technology Conference (January 9 and 10) on your calendar and register online now. If you register by December 14, the price is $120. On December 15 the price increases to $150, the same price for on-site registration at the conference. So take a few moments and save yourself a few bucks to reserve your seat. We think we have an excellent program scheduled.

The planning committee placed great emphasis on developing a program that addresses both current and near-future issues in crop protection and production. The five symposia selected for the program are high-production soybean management, managing nutrients and water quality, pest resistance and resistance management, "IPM in the crosshairs," and high-production corn management. The speakers selected are experts from throughout the Midwest, all of whom will provide insightful perspectives on the most important issues you have to deal with now and into the future. You can view the program in detail for yourself on our web site. The CCA credits for each session are indicated. Each presentation title links to a synopsis of the content and a photo of the presenter.

The program organization will be somewhat "retro," reverting to the original format of all presentations being made to all participants in one room for the duration of the conference. From 2001 through 2007, we offered concurrent educational sessions, a format received very well by participants. However, with three concurrent sessions and each session presented only twice, some attenders have lamented not being able to participate in all of the sessions. Thus, we are returning to the original format as a 60th-year capstone for the conference.

If you have any questions about the conference or suggestions for future programs, please don't hesitate to contact me or one of the other program co-chairs. Sandy Osterbur will gladly field your calls at (800)321-1296. We look forward to seeing you in January.--Kevin Steffey
