Corn Rootworms and Bt Corn: Assessing the Impact, Managing the Pest

On July 20, we recorded a presentation titled "Corn Rootworms and Bt Corn: Assessing the Impact, Managing the Pest" for the Plant Management Network. The presentation, which lasts approximately 45 minutes, includes a brief overview of the history and life cycle of western corn rootworms, a discussion of injury caused by rootworms (including discussion of the node-injury rating scale), results from some of our 2006 corn rootworm management trials, and a discussion of Bt corn use to manage corn rootworms and the issues that will affect corn rootworm management. PowerPoint slides are synchronized with audio for the presentation, viewable on-line. We are enthusiastic about this form of delivering educational information, and we would be happy to hear feedback.
