Answers about the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System

Since November 1, 2011, a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit has been required for pesticide applications in, on, or near water’s edge. Extension specialists Michelle Wiesbrook and David Robson have worked with the Illinois EPA to develop a document answering common questions about the permit and procedure. You can click here to download the "NPDES FAQ for Pesticide Applications" (Adobe PDF, 303 kb) or view it online on the Pesticide Safety Education Program.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Michelle Wiesbrook (buesinge@illinois.edu) or David Robson (drobson@illinois.edu).--Aaron Hager
